Re: My `Unexpected` new little friend!
I don`t know about adorable but he certainly rules the roost! It would have been nice to find out more about his life but my friend collected him for me and what she was told was what I was told, so we don`t really know more than that. I couldn`t believe the wheel in the ferplast duna was so stuck that he couldn`t have been in this cage all of his life surely? It just didn`t seem right. I have a feeling she switched him into this cage from a better cage because in the original advert, the cage he was advertised in clearly had a pink base and he arrived in a yellow based duna, so chances are she might well have switched cages, or the image was taken a while ago when he was housed in a pink based cage, who knows...
No wonder he was in the wheel before I could get it fixed to the stand!!!

Re: My `Unexpected` new little friend!
I do hope so Poms. He`s a happy little guy and active so I`m hopeful that he will soldier on for a while yet. He only had me up the once last night but I only got up to see what he was chewing at as I`d put in a crittertrail tube for him to get up one end of his ferplast shelf so I think he was tasting it! It`s still on one piece this morning thank goodness!

Re: My `Unexpected` new little friend!
I just came back and finished catching up on this thread! Congrats on adopting Fred! After all that trouble, I'm very glad he managed to have a great retirement with you. He sounds like a real sprite old man though!

Re: My `Unexpected` new little friend!
Hi Biscotti, thanks. He truly is as mad as a hatter! He had me up again last night with his acrobatic antics! I still can`t believe he`s just over two years old because he just has so much energy. It was well worth the effort to get him though because goodness knows where he might have ended up otherwise. At least he is in a home that understands the species and hasn`t ended up in a dead end home where he may not have been treated properly.
But yes, Fred (the shred)! is in fine spirits.

Re: My `Unexpected` new little friend!
I think it's all in the name. I had a cat named Fred and he was always getting into trouble. I was a kid and didn't know better than to let cats run free. He managed to get electrocuted by chewing thru a lamp cord, jumped in the washing machine and the lid fell closed during an Arizona summer, got stuck in a tent in the neighbors backyard for three days and finally fell into a vat of chemicals. At one point i was working a part time job in high school just to pay his vet bills. He had many smaller adventures during his long life, but I vowed to never again name a pet Fred. Lol. I hope your Fred has a nice long life with you, he is a beauty! He c point have gotten a better home.

Re: My `Unexpected` new little friend!
Thankyou, I almost forgot to update this thread about Fred! Thanks for your story about Fred the cat! My Fred is thriving and enjoying life I`m pleased to report. I treasure every day he spends with me and for an over two year old robo, he`s in fantastic shape.

Re: My `Unexpected` new little friend!
Thanks fluffydd. It`s the least I could do when I stumbled across his Gumtree ad. When something plays on my mind, I know I need to act on it and thankfully, thanks to my good friend stepping in, we managed to get him into a nice retirement.
