2 saucers for 2 robos
Everything I read before getting my robos suggested a wheel per robo, so I got two small saucers for them. However they refuse to use both, they always try and use the same one! As the saucers are quite small, this inevitably ends badly, with one of them flying off in to the sawdust, before trying again.
I've since replaced the saucers with a larger wheel which they can both use at the same time. Just wondered if anybody else had much luck getting robos to use separate wheels/saucers?
Another problem is that they used the saucer as their toilet, so I was having to clean it and the perspex tank around it all the time!!

Re: 2 saucers for 2 robos
I often have this with my pairs, but it is useful to have two wheels/saucers as if one is often getting pushed out they will quite likely decide they've had enough and use the other in the end. Also only one means that the more dominant may claim it as their own and refuse to let the other on at all.
Weeing on saucers and wheels is very common, that's just hams for you. I only clean twice a week as they will only wee on them again as soon as you put them back in clean. That's how they want it, that's what they'll do.
Mine do try to run together still, but my babies are getting too big to fit on with their adult cage mates, cue much comical falling off

Re: 2 saucers for 2 robos
Well I think I'll stick with the one larger wheel for now, as they seem to only want to run together and seem to manage on that without any issues. Also when they wee on the wheel it doesn't splatter as much as the saucer, so less cleaning for me! Yay!
I still have the saucers on hand if the situation changes.

Re: 2 saucers for 2 robos
My two robos have a wheel each which they use independantly (sometimes together) and one 6 & half inch FS, which again they use either alone or together, with the 6 & half inch one they can both fit on it together.

Re: 2 saucers for 2 robos
I'll measure the saucers to see what size they are - they do fit on it together, they just don't stay on it together. ; )
but they don't even touch the 2nd saucer, whether alone or together. It's as if the 2nd one isn't even there.

they have found one that they like? Don't like the other one, may be a daft question but are both FS brand new (not used by another hamster etc before)?

Both brand new, both the same colour, both seem to spin as easily as the other. I can't tell the two saucers apart! Both look a little worn if you look at the spindle/axle bit, all I can assume is that once they've scented one they just continue to use that one; maybe?

That does seem quite weird, but they have found one they like?
My two robos switch between all three of their wheels/FS (yep they like to pee & poop on them) all of their wheels are different one wooden wheel, one silent spinner and one FS? Sometimes one of them runs on one then goes across cage to the next one has a run then goes to the third one for a run on that. Funny little creatures.
Can't really say why, as i said it just seems that they have found a favourite one? they don't squabble or fight over it do they?

No, the only reason I swapped the two FS for a larger wheel was that they never seemed to get very far before one of them went flying off in to the substrate! Amusing to watch, but it just seemed like it would be frustrating for them.
Now they seem to run happily for ages side by side. I just wondered if anybody else experienced this, as all the advice I got before hand was that number of wheels saucers should equal the number of robos.
