Cool Still puzzled by various white colors

My two girls, Dora and Leela, while both white have different head spots. Leela's is brown and has grown well defined and quite large over time. It has brown roots and lighter ends. It's symmetrical in the center between her ears. Dora's is gray and very small and asymmetrical and is all but disappearing. At some angles it's not even visible, like a thin dark slash as if it's parted hair. They seem clearly different.

What is the difference between "head spot" and "diluted pied" in terms of white robos, any ideas? I feel like Dora might be the head spot variety and Leela -- diluted pied. The two of my girls are not necessarily sisters--I think they came from a series of litters +/- few days apart, so they could be directly related, but could be not. I remember they even had differently shaped ears when they were young and less "blobby" Dora's were more squarish.

Hi Hamtastic,
Do you have photos of them both which clearly show their spots please?
I am very interested in this new variety of Roborovski, but as I have said before I am yet the ba able to see them in the flesh as we don't have them here yet.
I do have some on the way to me but they won't be with me for a while yet, but I am very excited to get them and start working with them
I can only say what I have hears about this colour from other countries, but I have heard that it is created by combining one of the white faced genes with one of the pied genes - obviously if this is true then there could be many variations due to there already being two white faced genes and two pied genes.
So this could explain why you have two seemingly different varieties - or it could just be that they are the same geneticly but the outside colour has a large variation.
The only way to find out is to find out what their parents were or to do some really careful test matings.
I am really interested to see what you find

Tammy, thank you for your reply!

I will have my SO help me take some photos of their spots tomorrow--it'll be easier if I hold them with the spots in focus. The two really do seem quite different.

For now, you can see rough comparisons on this page:
A Grand Unified Thread of Robo photos (my gang)

Not detailed and hard to see colors, but Leela is the one with the large spot, and Dora (down the page in her wheel) has a faint small off-center spot. I was handling Dora today and noticed that her spot is just two narrow slashes of color, not clearly visible.
