Default Robo Adoption

I have been planning to get a pair of Robos for sometime but its happened sooner rather than later. I went to the local store to buy food and saw a male pair for adoption. They were in the most awful cage and I just couldnot leave them so I have adopted two month old Frank and Fred. So I am doing things right, they are in a Duna mini, I have put in a large food bowl and sand bath but one water bottle. There is one bed area but two wheels plus tubes and play bits. Anything I am missing or need to do, advice welcome as I have never housed a pair before Thanks

Welcome to you and your new robos ad. The cage sounds of good size for robos and unfortunatly this is the one type I have never kept so am not able to offer much advice. If they are similar to the other dwarf species in behaviour I would scatter feed them rather than have a bowl as they can get territorial over this and also be careful about maintaining the scent of both in the cage by replacing some bedding at clean out time and always handling both hamsters at once rubbing their scents over your hands and each other. That way you have the best chance of keeping them in harmony. Hopefully someone else who keeps robos will help out here. Looking forward to hearing more about them. They sound cute.

Had never thought about scattering food, so have tried it and enjoyed watching them scout around for food, thanks for the tip!
