Default Growing Up Hamsters!

Just thought id make a new thread about Muffin and Cupcake to share pictures of them as they grow and such!

Both have grown quite a bit! I'm having trouble deciding who is who now hehe

Here is a picture of them when I brought them home.

And here is a recent picture I took last night! As you can see both have grown quite a bit, they now fill up the food bowl with their little bodies! they are much more round looking now as well.

I believe Muffin is the one behind. I'm a bit concerned about muffin because I've noticed that her left eye is watery. I haven't seen any problems with eye crusties or mucous, the eye itself appears fine, but the wetness around the outside definitely shows irritation. I'm thinking that perhaps the lens was maybe scratched or something, thus the watery eye?

Ill keep an eye on it and see if it seems to clear up. besides that problem they are crazy hyper things that love to play and pig out! they seem over all in great shape.

Gosh they have grown quite a bit. They look lovely and plush and healthy. The eye may just be irritated or they can get infections but you usually get more of a discharge with that. Hope fully it will clear soon. Are they taming well?

minicooper, Ive never been bitten by any of my rodents before, not since Ive taken up keeping them again over the past three years. Even my robo Pichu who I inst hand tame has never bitten me. I try my best not to give them reason to.

Souffle, Cupcake and Muffin are like all robo's, they would prefer not to be held and usually run all over the place if I put my hand in the cage. However I am able to pick them up if I need to. But I usually let them be and prefer to watch them. They are just so small and fast I wouldnt want to risk dropping one or have one escape.

Yes they are very speedy. I judged the pet class at a show today and there were three robos in it I had a devil of a job catching them then they felt like little butterflies in my hand. I put them back quickly as I did not want them racing round the hall.

They have grown but they must still be tiny if they can both fit into that little dish! They are very sweet!

I took some more pictures last night! The little rodents were awake and going crazy so I took the opportunity. They are doing very well, and Muffin's eye problem seems to be clearing up. It still looks irritated but not as red and wet around the edges as before, and still no signs of eye goop or anything like that. So I think she will be fine.

My two girls tend to go crazy when the hubby and I get read for bed and we flick on the light (the robo's are kept in the bedroom).. so I offered some seed sprinkled on the cage floor and gave them some lettuce. I haven't been bothering to handle them, since I always get the feeling they would rather be left alone, but they are both still very inquisitive! As soon as my hand comes down with food both run up and try and eat it right out of my fingers lol, you'd think I was starving them!

They were even a bit bold and started to nibble on my hand. I could feel their little teeth testing my skin.. trying to decide if I was good to eat I suppose.. perhaps it was the smell of hand soap on me?

Anyway pictures! They have grown quite a bit! In the first picture I think both are trying to eat the same piece of lettuce, thought you cant see it, since its wedges in between their little round bodies hehe.

Cupcake coming out of the house and Muffin munching on Lettuce!

Not sure who is who in this photo. But its cute!

Two pictures of Muffin. You can see she still has that white fleck on her head.

And Pichu my male robo in his cage with a yummy piece of lettuce. I just love their pink fuzzy paws!
