Unhappy Getting upset about other people's hamster care

I am really struggling at the moment to accept that hamster neglect seems to be ubiquitous. I know several people who own hamsters that do not care for them properly. For example having hamsters in small cages without proper enrichment so they chew the bars And monkey barring

I am wondering if there is anything I can do to raise awareness about hamster care in my local area. I was thinking about writing about my own experiences of owning hamsters and what I have learned about them. If I wrote something for the local paper do you think they might be interested? Is it worth writing to pets at home to complain about the advice they give (or don't give) to customers and the unsuitable products they sell for hamsters?
