What is hamster gender, please help
Hi, i'm sorry but can y'all help me too? I have adopted two hammies and i didn't know they were a boy and a girl back then. The girl "chubby" gave birth to 5 hammies. 2 boys and 2 girls and 1 unknown. The others were easy to identify but i'm not quite sure with this one... sometimes it would look like the two openings were far apart but sometimes it would look like they're close together...
Here is a pic: https://imgur.com/a/Wgyuf
Thank you in advance!!!

Re: What is hamster gender, please help
From the photo I would say female.
Although I would wait for other replies to be certain though.

Re: What is hamster gender, please help
I was thinking female too, SKB. But I’m certainly not an expert on determining a hamster’s sex, so I’d wait for a more experienced owner to make the call

Are all the photos of the same hamster?
It’s hard to be completely be certain from photos but I would say the left photos are of a Male (top and bottom left photos). Whereas the right appear to be a female.

It can be difficult to tell the difference if you don’t know what to look for and dwarf can be particularly hard to determine gender. Male hamster have protruding rounded rear ends which are his testicles (top left photos shows this best especially when compared to the hamster on the right). The Male also has a noticeable scent gland on his tummy which females don’t have.
This diagram best shows the difference (scroll down to image labelled dwarf sexing) - Sexing Hamsters • Hamsterific!

Re: What is hamster gender, please help
It looks like the left one is male. I think you can see the testicles and he has fur between the two vents and quite a large gap. The other looks to be female with no fur between the vents and a smaller gap. It's probably best to separate them as you don't want siblings breeding.

Re: What is hamster gender, please help
Where did you get them from?
I would separate them either if they were the same sex as they do live perfectly happy lives on there own and also you don’t have to worry about possible fall outs or fights (as the majority of pairs do end up falling out).
I am fairly certain one is male and other is female.
