Re: Cinnamon Bear
It is overwhelming, especially with Koala too. I'd say the mites are equally frustrating. Then Cinnamon might be dying? Food won't get here for another month...

Re: Cinnamon Bear
It is frustrating but you just have to be patient with Koala & give the meds a chance to work.
Forget about the food taking a month to arrive, it won't reduce his blood sugar drastically just help control it long term, just try some of the things you can do for him now.
Just doing something like giving him some fenugreek could be one step in the right direction, one step at a time & it isn't so overwhelming.

Re: Cinnamon Bear
I'll give him fenugreek & keep testing his urine. I'll get some seeds today. I know you say to forget about the food but I did contact the seller so there's a chance I'll get the food sooner? When I'm out of the apartment I don't worry about the hamsters. But at home different story

Re: Cinnamon Bear
Shopping trip: got Cinnamon, Koala too
Fenugreek seeds. Hemp seeds, flax seeds
Also chicken with gravy baby food & Pedialyte
Veggies: Broccoli, cucumber, cauliflower , green pepper & mixed lettuce (kale, spinach & chard)
Hopefully that will help, plus the get mini milkbones
Update: Cinnamon ate 5 fenugreek seeds, I offered him six. He likes flax & hemp seeds. Doesn't like chicken baby food where Koala does.
It doesn't look like Cinnamon likes the pedialyte in his water. That could be a problem, will monitor

Re: Cinnamon Bear
Burgess would be best, since the food itself is already small enough to be appropriate for tiny dwarf ham mouths and you wouldn't have to do any breaking of pieces to make it work

Re: Cinnamon Bear
I would probably go for Burgess simply because the smaller pieces are easier for dwarf hamsters to manage. I used to buy Harry Hamster for my Chinese but because they'd always leave out the larger pieces I'd had to either break it up a bit for them or throw them away.

Re: Cinnamon Bear
Cinnamon doesn't like pedialyte in his water, he doesn't like fenugreek seed, nor does he like healthy food. He does like veggies tho..

Re: Cinnamon Bear
Veggies are good! Be sure to give a variety but not all at once.
What hamster food did you settle on?
