Default Re: My sweetie

She is gone.

I called the nearest vet office right after they started working. She was still breathing when I put her in the carrier. Ten minutes later I was at the vet and I've waited another ten for the doctor to come. But as soon as the doctor opened the carrier I knew she was gone. She was already becoming stiff.

Now I have her ashes right next to her empty cage. I am incredibly sad. She moved into another country with me. I wish I could take more friends with me, but she was the only one. Reminder of home and a very nice, quirky hamster.

I feel guilty and scared. I imagine her night was horrible, maybe I should have taken her to the emergency vet during the night to help her pass. But as she was eating I was kind of hoping ... I know people and animals can recover from a stroke but I guess it was her time.

I think no matter what you do, when they leave you, you always feel guilty. Even if you have given them a good life.

I'm sorry my dear Scoop for the last couple of days. I will miss you.
