Cypheeer>>

Need your expert opinion and experience
I am going through Ratrations dried foods for Chiela and Poro, as I want to spoil them rotten

Would you please tell me if the following items are safe? If you know of cource ^^
Some I know, but I am not sure about all.
And your experience in hamsters liking or disliking them?

I know there are quit a few, but I am expecting you to say that half or more ain't good for them
  • Cornflowers
  • Dandelion - Root
  • Rose Petals
  • Hibiscus Blossom
  • Marigold (calendula)
  • mallow
  • chamomile

Berries:
  • Goji Berries
  • Cranberries

Fruit and vegetables:
  • Apple
  • Coconut
  • Papaya
  • Pineapple
  • Beetroot
  • Red Bell Pepper
  • Spinach

Because food in general are so insanely expensive in Denmark I was thinking of buying different vegetables and then freeze them, so I can take a small amount each time. Relative to hamsters I was thinking if they (the vegetables) loose to much. Have you tried this?

Not sure I'm an expert lol but to my knowledge all of those would be ok to use, if you use dried berries just check they're not sticky, I just worry a bit about them getting stuck in pouches if they are but I have given mine about half a dried goji berry a few times with no problems, haven't tried cranberries but I ordered some freeze dried ones just yesterday!
I'd be a little wary of pineapple as it has lots of enzymes & might just be a little too much for a small ham, not sure about that one tbh.
Mine really don't seem to like frozen veg but I know lots of people do use frozen so maybe mine are just being awkward lol! Most nutrients are preserved with freezing so it's certainly worth a try.

Okay so (just to double check) All except the pineapple are okay.
And as far as the berries i have to take care they are not sticky.... right?

As far as thawed (if this word isn't correct blame google translate ) vegetables I have to try....
I was just thinking that in this way i could offer them a bigger variation, so they don't get the same every time. you follow my point?

As far as knowledge, it's for sure you know waay more than me

My daughter "Penguin" is in the Netherlands on vacation at the moment, and I just talked to her yesterday over skype.
I was laughing as I told her, what I told you about my mother and that you replied that you are probably just as bad After this I said "well I am glad I am not that bad" Penguins only reply was "hmm aha yeah right mum, we just say that you ain't" hahahaha
She said that in six month my knowledge would be way bigger than most peoples.
I just blushed and stopped talking about Chiela hahahahaha.
(correction... I stopped talking to penguin about Chiela )

lol! I'm sure you're just as bad as me & your mother when it comes to Chiela, we all quickly become quite obsessed with our little fur balls

You got everything right yes, the berries should be quite dry & not sticky, I think the thawed veg (google got it right!) is a good idea if you have limited access to fresh or if it's just too expensive.
Chiela is one lucky girl, she's going to be so spoilt, only in the best way though of course

Hahaha now that we have established that I am not as bad as you and my mum ;p I just need to tell you something..... about Chiela

I haven't seen the little brat for about 36 hours.
about one hour ago the bunny mix, some nut's and some herbs got delivered.
I emptied her food bowl and gave her some of the bunny mix, one peanut and a bit of coconut. I also put a bit of the dried herbs in her cage.
And all of the sudden Chiela came to life, snatched a piece of coconut, and went down her hole just as fast as she came out However you could see her face, in the bottom of her hole

She emptied a big part of the food bowl, more than I have seen her do in all the time she has been here came up again to get some water and taste the herbs and then she disappear again
I have never seen her come out in the day time. Chiela has a habit of only coming out really late at night. But this food made her surface

So Chiela says thank you for teaching her mother about how to feed a queen dwarf hamster
