Maybe I should reword this, by to big I didn't mean the size I meant the nozzle the whole bottom of his mouth goes in the hole, I'm also kind of worry with that happening that if he tries to drink a lot he is going to end up wearing it instead of drinking it or choking on the water or something.
You can try a " mice" size water bottle- the spouts are smaller. That's what my dwarf ham, uses- In fact, my Syrian also uses the same size spout/bottle.
Thanks, I think I might. He seems to have figured this one out now and doesn't seem to struggle as much. But I will look into mice ones to see of it is better for him.
I like bottles because it keeps everything dry. Dread coming home to find a bowl knocked over and the hammy left with nothing but sopping wet substrate
