Default A Quick Update On Amy

Hello,

Amy is now 1 year 8 & a half months old. A few weeks ago she lost the fat they have when they are younger & went into her older lady ham shape & size. I can actually see her little face & front paws more now I could not before because of the big fluffy fat Campbell's carry around their necks.

She is doing O.K a little wobbly on her feet sometimes but still enjoying life as a hammy.

She sounds like Coffee, who I recently adopted. He's two and definitely lacking ham pudge. Glad your little lady is still happy and healthy

I remember when you first got Amy and your first picture of her. She is very lucky to have you! Nice to know how she is doing. I don't have any little hammies right now, but I have 4 mice. I keep coming here to keep up with your and yours.

Hi Essentiallysue,

Unfortunately Amy was called away from me, she was needed else where. She had a beautiful soul. But I will see her again one day

I don't have any hams now either & am doing the same as you looking in on others hams. It helps some how.

I am pleased you have the four mice I still have Tino, but he keeps hamster hours!

My mice are quite different from the hammies. I didn't think I would get as attached, but I am. I had to watch one die slowly and I suffered just as much. Now, I had another one get sick on a Friday night and couldn't see a vet until Monday. I didn't think she would make it, but I prayed and she survived. She is as healthy as can be and it's three weeks later, so I believe she healed. I belong to two mice websites and get help there.

I will never forget your making the mixes and the care and love you put into it. It is almost two years since Jo Jo died and I really am ready for another hammie. I owe it to these four mice to wait though.

My heart goes out to you! I wish I could meet you as a person, as well as some of the other loving people on this website. I get the message on the top of my page, saying I haven't posted for a long time. So I want you and all to know that I am still here. I think if I didn't have these precious pets, I wouldn't need a computer!

I agree it's a totally different bond I have with Tino than I had with all four of my hamsters. I never knew how intelligent hamsters were, that they have such big personality's & make you fall in love with them at first sight! Hamsters are micro dogs in disguise.

I hired a stand in instead of a hamster but I am going to have to sack him because he is just so boring!

You would not believe how many times I have looked at the coffee table since the tanks gone from there!

There are some lovely members here I think we are very lucky to have online support & a huge knowledge base from experienced breeders to experienced owners. Someone on here will know the answer or if not a good place to start at.

You are one of the members I know has a heart of gold.

Don't worry about that message, I have had it too. Sometimes I just like to read, sometimes I post, & in the past I've been too busy to come on here at all. But It's always here when I need or want to come & catch up
