Unnamed Dwarf
I got a dwarf today. Taking it step-by-step, but I -think- it's a female. However, since I don't want another one (and from what I've gathered, keeping them in multiples is a choice?) I don't really want to flip him/her upside down to check. Now would be the time when a clear bowl would be helpful, haha.
I'll probably go through and pick the sunflower seeds out of his mix, but I'm not sure, I haven't really found any solid care-sheet for dwarf djungarian, haha.

Re: Unnamed Dwarf
Thank you all!
I have gone with the name Charlie, but since I forgot that you can't edit posts after a certain time I'll probably just start up a thread for her under Hybrids next time I get pictures.

I assume she is, as she's general pet-store stock. I've been browsing around, so I'll probably switch her food sometime when I find something I like. :3

Djungarian is a word used for both Russian dwarf species (Campbell's and Winter White), because at one point we believed they were the same species. They are still commonly confused with each other because they look rather similar in appearance.

Sunflower seeds are not bad if given in moderation. I personally pick out all the corn and peas. I feed sunflower seeds, millet, and mealworms and all of my hams are a healthy weight and are tested regularly for diabetes. As long as you're not overfeeding these treats, your ham should be fine.

She looks more like a Winter White than a Campbell's. Could definitely be hybridized. I'm not all that familiar with the Winter White species. I have Campbell's.
