He weighs nothing. That and I used two sheets of kitchen roll, folded, so it's four sheets thick, really. And it's not even posh stuff, it will just be own brand recycled. Seems ok so far! No major damage, he's been playing in it today. x

i suppose its much safer than fleecey stuff
I will try it i think!
What can i use for the hammock arms (whatever you call em XD) string? or would i be better off digging out some ribbon?

Try either . Ribbon seems good, the weight is slightly more spread out with it, but give string a go if it's handy. x

How about using a J-Cloth? like the bedding? that would be stronger than kitchen roll and would be ok if they had a little chew, you can get big packs in tesco for about 40p.

i will use a spare j cloth too
With some plaited string to make it more stable

I just took some better images with my decent camera, it should be clear how I did this and cute as pie. Oh! Pie! I forgot there is cherry pie in the fridge.

UPDATE: ok i made one with the j-cloth but it didn't dip in the middle so i went to find so hamster safe fabric and i did! heres some pics (i used a sewing machine this time to make it look neat
