Default Personalised keyring

If this isn’t allowed you can delete this, I just feel more comfortable asking here then publishing out to the entire world first.

Basically I thought I’d come up with the amazing idea to do personalised keyrings but I do them on wooden slices so they have a natural look.

But I’ve done my three I want to use for an advert and now I hate them and I don’t even want to post them because I think they look wrong but I always do this and over critique myself. Here they are:

I think I’d charge £7.50 which originally I thought was a lot but looking around people sell them for much more than this for 5cm ones and mine are 7cm.

I just would like to know if anyone uses PayPal or Etsy or sells as a business on fb marketplace because I have no clue and I really don’t know if people would even want these anymore.

They are beautiful! I love them. You have so much talent. I have a painting of one of my past guinea pigs on a wooden slice. It is not a keyring so it is on my wall. So many people would buy these. I think £7.50 is a bargain!

Thank you so much! I think paintings look lovely on wood and I’m sure your guinea pig looks stunning on the wall! I’m glad you said about the price because I really thought it would put some people off.

I thought it’d just be a fun project but now I’m looking at them it just feels a little daunting.

I can understand why it feels daunting. Maybe you could make them for family and friends only just until you feel okay with it? I love paintings on wood too.

I’ve never really liked selling to family and friends, the dog one is actually my mums dog who passed away and I wouldn’t dream of charging her, and I’ve seen people sell paintings for friends and a lot of them do it out of guilt for the person. So whenever I’ve tried to sell stuff I’ve made I always want random people to like it because that way you know it’s genuinely because they like it and not just because they know you.

Then if it does go well that’s when I’d want to tell friends lol I guess I’m a little backwards in that sense!

Did you hand paint them and seal them so the paint doesn't chip?

Yes hand painted acrylic and I used a wax finish instead of a acrylic sealant for a more natural option. It does the same thing since the wax hardens to protect the paint.

They look awesome. Its hard to make a profit on etsy these days. A lot of people sell on Instagram and use paypal. That's what I do for the things I make and sell when I am fundraising for my friends rescue.

Ive also seen a few people hang things like this on the outside of their hamster cage or have it as a memento when theynhave lost a beloved pet.

Thank you for you comment! I think the same with Etsy, and I don’t have Instagram. I’m just looking on Facebook to see how it works as I only want to deliver them but they do their own “secure checkout” but as you say I’d rather do PayPal.

It also says from purchase on marketplace you have three working days deliver but sometimes if I’m busy or need to do another order it may take me longer. I might just list it as door drop off to make sure people don’t purchase through marketplace since I don’t think I trust it. I don’t even know if they would sell.
