Guidance on building a craft stick structure
I'm gonna build a structure that I plan to keep in her home permanently. I bought these craft sticks.
Go Create Natural Wood Craft Sticks, 1000 Count, Natural Wood - Walmart.com - Walmart.com
I found out that they're made of pine. This made me nervous but from what I've read they should be safe.
I also plan to use just basic kids Elmer's glue. I was thinking about doing a coat of Elmer's glue over the wood to help protect it a little.
Does this all sound okay? Any tips?

Re: Guidance on building a craft stick structure
I can't comment on craft sticks because i don't know enough about them but Elmer's school glue is fine as an adhesive.
You can use plastikote to coat it, the one in the tub not the spray. It's available in clear and various colours. Plastikote is non toxic and protects and waterproofs wood.

Re: Guidance on building a craft stick structure
The craft sticks should be fine even though they are pine. The sticks were probably made from kiln dried pine which makes the wood safe for hamsters. Smell the sticks. If they smell like pine, I wouldn't use them but if they have no odour they're safe.
