Wood glue - safe for hamsters
Ok, so I read on here that a few of you use Ponal glue for your projects. Can anyone expand on what makes it safe?
I have Collall Wood glue - it's main ingredient is poly vinyl acetate (PVA)- the same as Ponal/other wood glues. It's my understanding this is what makes the glue stick.
Collall Wood Glue
I have used it before on a cottage hide for Luna - outside of the cage, but I am wanting to make something for inside the cage and will be making a video of it so want to make sure I am recommending a hamster safe glue.
I think Victoria Raechel recommends Elmers Glue All but that is really expensive to get shipped to the UK.
Thanks

I use Elmer's school glue and find it quite effective.

apparently that is the same as Elmers Glue All - just different packaging
Is Elmers School Glue the same as Elmers Glue all?
In 1968, Elmer's introduced Elmer's School Glue, the first white glue that washed out of clothes. Soon, Elmer's Glue-All and School Glue would contain the same ingredients, but each retained its different packaging.

Yes but only stuck leaves onto the holes of the Ferplast houses and they're still on. Haven't done anything structurally if that's even a word.

Re: Wood glue - safe for hamsters
Any PVA glue intended for schools or children should be safe, as they're the same thing as Elmer's glue. Elmer's glue is the most common brand of children's PVA glue in the US, which is why it's commonly recommended. For more structural things or anything that needs to support weight, you would probably need a PVA wood glue though, like Ponal. I'm not sure about the Collall one linked. This one says it's non-toxic: Amazon.co.uk.

Thanks Sushi, it would have been good to get an answer on the collall, just because I already have it. I ordered some Ponal anyway. I saw the other one you linked to on another thread, but thought I better stop buying glue otherwise it may look like I have a problem. 😀

Re: Wood glue - safe for hamsters
The collall glue should be ok because it states suitable for children over 6 and they wouldn't put that on something toxic. I think all super glues, resin based ones like epoxy etc are toxic but i'm no glue expert either.
