Easiest detolf lid option.
Hello,
I just wanted to share an idea I had regards making a lid for the detolf.
I was going to make the typical wood and mesh lid that I've seen so many versions of, but was aprehensive as I am not that much of a DIYer and wanted it to look really good.
What I have decided to do instead is to use the glass shelves, but with rubber cable clips connecting them to the inner wire of the cage.
At the moment our hamster is still a baby, and also not currently interested in escape, so I have used the 3 shelves over the highest points. I plan to add one more shelf to increase coverage. This will still allow for plenty of air circulation, as well as look quite nice I think.
I'm also planning to add a small handle onto each partition, to use to slide across or lift the glass as needed.
The glass is held very firmly, but is easily removed.
The clips are self adhesive and super easy to apply.
What do you guys think?
