Smile A level product design hamster cage

I've mentioned before that I was making a hamster cage for my A level product design coursework. Now that I've got most of my exams out of the way I thought it might be a good time to show you the final thing.
I'm not too happy with it. If I hadn't had to stick to the deadline I would definitely taken a lot more time to make it perfect but I guess it's alright.

I fixed the issue of the lid leaving a bit of a gap where there is the partition for the storage area which you can see in some of the photos. I used Ponal glue and did two coats of plastikote on every surface. Thinking about doing the inside surfaces another time just to make sure.

Sadly it will be september/ october by the time I can bring it home but when I do I think I'll do some other improvements so if you have any suggestions feel free to reply with them

Your DIY cage looks lovely - it is such a wonderful design and I really like the unique shape and design to your cage. Good Luck with the rest of your exams and I hope you get the grade you would like!

Your DIY cage looks awesome!!! I also really love the unique shape, the actual design of the cage, and the attached storage area which will be extremely helpful. I'm sure your professor will be very impressed with your masterpiece. I hope that you will get a superb grade for your innovative design, and I'm sure your ham will love it, too. Good luck with your remaining exams, too; I hope that you will ace them.

Thanks guys!
I'm predicted a B which is actually amazing! Last year I was scraping D's and really struggling (you should have seen when I got my results last year I was jumping round my house screaming in excitement that I didn't fail ). I feel like I've come so far.
The storage area should be pretty useful for me since currently loads of my spare hamster things sit in a cardboard box on the floor, so not the best.
Only one more exam left and it's product design theory.

Wow, I can't even imagine what the competition must be like if you are expecting a B from this one and was excited not to fail last year!!!! Your project is really awesome so I do pray that your professor decides it is worthy of receiving an A and surprises you. Good luck with your exam in product design theory.

this looks awesome! very smooth and snazzy design with the curved edges. i'm sure whoever moves in here will be a very happy and lucky ham! please post pics when you have it all set up.
i remember how utterly stressed i was with my A levels so i really sympathise. best of luck with your remaining exams and remember in a few years this will all be just a speck of the past. i just handed in my final coursework for uni so we'll both be rejoicing with the relief soon! i hope you have a lovely summer!

Thanks!
I actually finished my last A level exam at 11 today (it's perfect that I finished three days before my birthday!). It was A2 product design theory, two hours of writing about designing but I quite enjoyed some of the questions (there was one where you had to describe how pedestrian crossings were made to be inclusive to all users eg. deaf, blind). Anyway I think it went really well!

I can't wait until october when I can bring it home for Tofu. I've started making a mental plan of how I want to set it up lol.

That's very impressive, I love the shape also.
You get an 'A' from me!
