The 1000 count(not 10 100 counts, but that did show how cost compares between the 100 count and 1000 count)is $26.The 100 count are $8.The $2.60 comes in as a cost per 100 popsicle sticks when buying the 1000 count, meaning buying the 1000 count is cheaper per stick Sorry if that was overly confusing, but the point is that the 1000 count are much cheaper!

This is the link amityvillehams is referring to - Pop Sticks – 1000 count – ColdMolds.com

I have always bought my popiscle sticks from a craft store -none of my hamsters have ever chewed on them before. So personally I would recommend the ones from the craft store myself.
This I a link for making flour glue - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U8q5B_grqI0 - I tried making it myself but never had much success with it although I know other people who have tried it and it works really well. Instead I use a tiny amount on non-toxic pva glue (same as elders glue) you only need a tiny amount to securely bond wood.

I wouldn't take the chance on the craft store popsicle sticks just because they might not get chewed It's an avoidable risk factor, just like using Elmer's glue when flour glue can be made(rather than using a product that does at least contain petroleum and could certainly contain other incredibly questionable ingredients).

I’m confused on how much wood I need for the platform itself, I’m confused on the calculation in the link you sent , amityville hams

Thickness could be seen as the height of the wood, and the width is how wide across it is.Since the wood itself is sold in linear feet, you'd have to calculate the size of the platform you want to make and add a little extra for legs and if you'd rather save more money you could potentially have extra wood from that to use as the border.

If in doubt, you could always just order 3 or 4 linear feet.It doesn't hurt to have leftover wood pieces, which can always be cut to size for toys and other things!

Hello everyone so I have a quick update, today was my birthday and I got some stuff for peanut I got Birch plywood.. I know what you are thinking but it’s made in the USA so I think it is safe! Also I got some creatolgy popsicle sticks! The pop sticks are made in China but I am still gonna use them for the DIY
Let me know what you think!

I wouldn't use either of those materials.Plywood even made in the USA is going to be just as bad as any plywood due to the manufacturing process and Chinese popsicle sticks are always going to be an unnecessary risk. You could use them for other general crafts, but I would definitely not use them for hamster items.
