Default Making a bottle castle and tipi for your hammie!

Now I am going to show you how I made some houses for my hamster, this idea just came to me while playing with a empty bottle yesterday and now I want to share it with you , my favorite hamster caring comunity!

First of all you will need these items:
-Bottle, to get the castle effect you have to use a similar one to what I am using. And if you want to see your hamster sleeping you can use a transparent bottle like I am using.

I am using a standard 1,5L cola bottle.

This is how the bottom of the bottle should look like to get the castle effect

-Hobby knife (if you are under 15 please get a adult to help you as these knives are really sharp :) )

-A scissor

-Clear tape

-Disco Tape or whatever you want for decorating (this is optional)

First we need to wash and take the label of the bottle. And we need to put some clear tape on where there is glue left on the bottle so our hammies dont get stuck in it. Make sure the tape is smooth and nice so tiny teeth dont get a hold :)

Now your bottle should look kinda naked and dont be sticky where the label was attached.

Next we need to cut our bottle in two pieces. I choose to cut mine abit over the center so I get the Tower/castle look I want of the bottom and the top wil be a little tipi.

as you can see we get two houses out of this bottle, one indian styled tipi and one middleaged style castle only they are both transparent and made from plastic :P

Now we have to cut some doors and the castle will get windows. I used scissors for the doors and ive rounded the edges at the bottom of the door so my hammie wont get poked. Make the door abit higher than your hammie as these houses is not so stable so will need to be pressed abit down in the substrate for stability :)

Now we have our doors and the tipi is finished, it only needs some decorating. I have added some disco hearts :)

Now all we need to do is cut out windows on our tower so it will have some airflow. I cut triangular pieces of the bottle at the bottom (will be the top of the castle tho) with a hobby knife. I will do this on all the high parts of the castle top.

I hope you will be able to see what I mean on this pic, it is transparent and not so easy to show.

Then I add some Disco hearts and it is finnished!

The finnished product :

I recon a bottle like this is completely safe to use as long as it does not have any sharp or pointy parts when you are done making it... We drink soda from them so I bet a hamster can use it as a house then :D

Aww Thanks It is really easy to make and if you use a transparent bottle you can see your hammie sleeping inside

Ive taken some pics of them in a modified verson... what ive done is that ive made the windows smoother, bigger and with round edges. And I made one where I dont cut the door all the way down , but like a little hole, this made the house more sturdy ^_^

Whit the Tipi I cut of the bottles neck, so my hammie can pop its head out xD
The tipi is not for syrians tho, unless you find a bigger bottle xD

Oh yeah and all edges are sanded down so they arent to sharp for tiny paws

First the castle:

Bigger windows with rounder corners, dunno if you can see it tho xD

bottle castle 1.1 xD lol

Then the little tipi:

As you can see the bottleneck is gone and that makes for a little skywindow.

Closeup on the little skywindow...

So I hope you enjoyed these, and remember: always make sure there are no sharp or poiny bits xD
