Wow! They look great. Feeling inspired to collect some cardboard and make a little village for mine now. Thanks for posting the pics

OK, I promised a guide a while a go, but have been really busy since, but here is a quick example of how I made one of the pieces:

1. The cardboard

I was quite lucky to find this cardboard already in rectangular form, but you can simply score a flat sheet to the dimensions you want and glue it to form something like this.

2. Draw the design

I was very careful on the pieces I constructed to only mark the card in the areas I was going to cut out as I didn't want any pencil marks on the finished thing, but I made them a little clearer here for you guys to see.

3. Cut it out

I used a sharp craft knife, but depending on the design you could probably do it with scissors. Either way get a responsible adult to help you if you need!!

4. Score the places where you are going to fold.

Corrugated cardboard has a bit of a mind of it's own when it comes to folding, so make sure you score it first! I used one ruler placed against the edge and ran a second along it to score the line.

5. Glue to finish!

I try and use the smallest amount of glue possible and used non-toxic PVA glue.

All the decorations I made were using a very similar process to this, the castle style turrets were even easier to make, I just glued in 'floors', so the turrets would hold their shape and the hams could climb up.

You know, this would have been great for the magazine. Maybe next issue? It is so creative and it gives the hammies something new to play in and with. Excellent work.
