Re: Rhubarbs proposed new forever cage
Its his wheel. lol. Its 8.5" so its a big one (and thats just the wheel not inc. the stand) Its difficult to draw!
Does it look more like a wheel now? You're spot on Lougarry!

Re: Rhubarbs proposed new forever cage
If Rhubarb is a syrian, would it be worth blocking the top shelf off earlier, rather than having a step up over the wheel so if Rhubarb does grow too big for the 8.5" wheel you could fit an 11" or 12" one in.
Its sooo lovely, i'd hate to see you have to pull it apart if a bigger wheel is needed.
Wish i had the skill to make anything near that good

Re: Rhubarbs proposed new forever cage
Thought it might be, but wasn't sure so figured I'd ask.
It wasn't saying the drawing was unclear or anything though! Its an awesome drawing!
Sometime I'll show the diagram of Scamp's bin cage plan lol, that'll show you bad drawing... It was literally brightly coloured lines lol
And yeah, it looks clearer now, but you really didn't have to change it for my benefit or anything. I'm feeling mean for asking now lol

Re: Rhubarbs proposed new forever cage
Mona, the upper shelf won't be attached so I'll be able to move it up or down(if you look really closely you'll see that the upper shelf will be on little perspex thingys so I can alter the layout however I want & Rhubarb requires.
K.D. A better plan means my hubby won't have to keep asking what things are so you did me a favour really! And yes I would like to see your plan. It will probs be like my plans I still draw on paper - lots of bright colours & only makes sense to the person who drew it. (Well mine certainly did - hubby couldn't make head nor tail of it!) lol.

Re: Rhubarbs proposed new forever cage
lol I'm glad you don't mind then.
And ok... I'll attatch it to this.
Its only a plan for the shelving of her middle unit, the other two weren't getting shelves. (The base layer is an underbed storage box, and the top one where her wheel goes so leaving shelves out was easier.)
In the end we flipped the design though, so the three corner shelves were on opposite sides to where this shows.
And we decided against using MDF at all, after deciding that we did indeed want to go back to the original idea of having the top bin empty.
Oh and how we edged the shelves changed when we decided to do balsawood. Now the only bits without edging are at the ends.
So... Enjoy laughing at my lovely diagram lol

Nope, not offended at all lol, I never said it made sense, I just promised that it wasn't half as good as the plans on this thread, and I think I've proven myself right there
The logic was as long as it made sense to me it was fine. It made more sense originally, but then we changed materials e.t.c and it got more complicated.
I think I've lost the diagram I drew of Scamp's proposed cage setup, else I'd be able to show you a really, really confusing one lol
