Default Building a Cage Extension - Question about Tubes & Shelves

We've just bought a 35L Really Useful Box to create an extension from Bean's Savic Cambridge. Foolishly I didn't bookmark the fantastic thread I found about tubing, and I can't find it in a search - so.

Am I right in thinking that the Ferplast and Savic tubes are the ones safe for Syrian hamsters?

I've been looking on Amazon as I couldn't remember where to buy the tubes, if we got a combination of the following, even that elbow tube would be okay for our Syrian? These also all go together?

Ferplast Straight Space Clear Tunnel Hamster Tube 4": Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies
Ferplast 8" Straight Space Tunnel Hamster Mouse Tube: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies
Ferplast Space Curve Clear Tunnel Hamster Small Pet: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies
Ferplast Space U Turn Clear Tunnel Hamster Tube 6cm: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies

And this is the right kind of end piece which you can put into the mesh/bars?

Ferplast Fpi Hamster Cage Expansion End Cap: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies

We are planning to use this mesh http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9436441&fh_locat ion=//catalog01/en_GB/categories%3C{9372012}/categories%3C{9372019}/categories%3C{9372069}/categories%3C{9572015}/specificationsProductType=wire_fencing (which I found in another thread) and fix it in with cable ties.

At some point we want to replace the shelves in the Cambridge with flat ones - is there any advice on this? If we use wood what kind of wood (suggestions of where to buy?) I'm thinking the bit of plastic we'll be chopping out of the box lid would be too flimsy. Are there premade ones that would fit?

Thank you so much for your help! I realise that's a lot of questions and I have been reading around the forum for a while but not been able to find exactly what I needed to know.

Is this thread your looking for?
How to connect cages with tubes

All those linked tubes and the connector piece should work great
I haven't experience the elbow tube, but I guess it decides on your syrians size. The average pet shop syrian shouldn't have any problems.
Sorry I can't help with making shelves, hopefully a more D.I.Y savvy person can!

Oh thank you! Yes that was the one I was thinking of. And thanks, he is a pet shop ham, but very fluffy, so I always forget he's smaller than he looks.

I think we're going to have to do an Amazon order!
