It would be a nice substitute for a rotostak attached to a bin cage (which is what a lot of people do )
I think it'd end up like the habitrail ovo, which is cute..
I'd do it attached to a bin cage, make dens etc for a more nervous hamster

Seen one recently on .. urr.... drat can't remember where (meh, just google 'hamster bin cages' its bound to turn up eventually) , but it looked a bit like a spider, it had a big bin in the middle with eight 'pods' coming off it made from smaller plastic bins, connected with clear plastic tubing.

...Katie is a celebrity...in the google hamster bin cages image world! lol
For the tubberware idea, I can see it as a good idea, for sure. Just my thinking is bin cages are already really big, people often complain about already not having enough floor space for them, so adding tubes and tubberware, well it might end taking up half your room! I know if i had a bin cage with those extra tube connecters and larger tubberware connectors it would have to be on the floor, and I would probably always be tripping on it, plus I also would worry about my cat attacking the tubing off while im sleeping to get to the ham:O . but if you have like a hamster room, or a huge room it would actually be a nice extra hide-out space for them.....but then again in a bin cage you could add lots of homes and hideout spaces already within the bin cage, so i onno lol, but those would be my own set backs
