Default String vs Chain?

hey

made a toy yesterday for pongo, and now want to make a few more for him and for the others. My issue is that whether its better to use string of chain? i wonder if there legs could get caught in string, or if they chew it itl be bad for them?

Here are the chains i am considering getting, what do you think?

and also as for the glue i can use, would this one be suitable?

and for using clips, would something like this be damaging?

The swivelly clips are fine - I use them on my mouse toys. Chain is probably better than string, as a ham will quickly chew through string, and synthetic fibres can cause internal problems if swallowed.

I'm not sure about the glue, it does say non-toxic so I think it should be OK, I think it would probably just be PVA?
