Okay, I'd just be very careful and get a plastic bin to add on instead as you don't want to risk him escaping. Any ham would chew through carboard if they knew it was an escape route!
Ok i was at pet smart and they had a Critter Trail Burrowing Maze on sale for $6 (USA) and normaly its $20 (USA) so i took off the box and added The Burrowing Maze. Yeah about the chewing on cardboard my hamster loves to because i made a cardboard house for him and he chewed the Side off so i went and just bought a wood house.
