Default Animated Movies

One of my great geek obsessions...animation. Most of my DVD collection is made up of animation
I thought it would be fun to share our favourites.

I've been a fan really from childhood..as I'm sure most are.
Disney was my foundation and my love grew from there.
Over the years I have been a great fan of Pixar...especially Wall.e and UP...and cannot wait for Brave this year.
My highlights of Dreamworks have always been Shrek and How to Train your Dragon (director of this created Lilo and Stitch), and if anyone remembers Prince of Egypt....stunning movie!

I am also a fan of Studio Gibli...those movies really are a feast for the eyes, and if you like a good story...then I highy recomend any of these. Look out for Grave of the Fireflies....please note you will cry! And such films as Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service (my personal fave..sweet story) Whisper of the Heart, and so many more are just wonderful.

So what animated movies do you love?

My favourite of all time is Snowhite. Just love Fantasia. The hand drawn animation is superb. I don't like computer drawn animation much. The last I saw was Wall E.

I love Spirited away, I'll never forget my mum buying it when I was seven and turning it off after ten minutes because it was so strange!

I love Studio Ghibli films! I've got a bunch of them: Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke...

I've also seen Kiki's Delivery Service, Grave of the Fireflies and Whisper of the Heart.

Another good film is Tokyo Godfathers by Satoshi Kon, though I've never met anyone else who's watched it.

Love animated stuff, can't stand that CGI crap, it looks so wierd and the eyes always look dead.

I love all the Disney classics - Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, The Lion King, Bambi , Fox and the Hound etc, but my favorite animated movie is Watership Down. I know it's a bit gruesome in some parts and sad, but it's fantastic, full of valuable life lessons (bad things happen, we don't go on forever, not everything is nice etc) and when Bright eyes comes on I just well up as it's so powerful
