Re: The Honourable Jessie Jaye of Metallica
I swapped her cage over and put her in one of the bins with a slightly higher mesh panel and that's managed to contain her creative housekeeping but today I discovered that she'd pushed some Fitch up against her water bottle.
Result - Empty water bottle and soggy Fitch! At least I can say that we've given Fitch a proper absorbency test.

Re: The Honourable Jessie Jaye of Metallica
lol! I find the water bottle the biggest challenge, no idea how many times I've moved Whispers to a safer place but it's a lot!
At least Jessie is having lots of fun & exercise

Jessie is the only one who has been a bit of a monkey with her water bottle. Not long after I got her she managed to stop it from working and then when I moved it, she thought it was a nice perch to sit on.
This is her acting all cute and innocent after I replaced her soggy Fitch...
(You can just about see the mark on her back where her skin split is)

Re: The Honourable Jessie Jaye of Metallica
Jessie has always been a friendly inquisitive little monkey but I've had a few issues with handling her as she just wants to be on-the-go all the time. Finally I'm feeling like we've turned the corner with her and she will now sit on my hand and be lifted up once she's on my hand.
I'd tried the methods we'd used with May with no real success but I think giving her some time to explore the world and then revisiting the taming methods was the real turning point.

Re: The Honourable Jessie Jaye of Metallica
She's such a lovely girl, they can really be a bit hyper these girls & I do love to see them like that but it's also great to hear that you're making such great progress together, they do need to be a little calmer at least some of the time lol!

Re: The Honourable Jessie Jaye of Metallica
She was a bit out of sorts not long after I brought Victoria home, I'm not sure she liked the idea of another hamster stealing her limelight and her seeds (that she doesn't evn like sharing with James). She seems to have settled down again now though and is back making mischief.
Filling her wheel with Fitch and then wondering why it won't work...

Re: The Honourable Jessie Jaye of Metallica
Aww how sweet does Jessie look and she's on TV in her TV toy! The wheel pic sure made me smile.

Re: The Honourable Jessie Jaye of Metallica
Those TV toys were bought for my first two Chineseys so it's nice to see them still being used. Victoria has the other one as James has his beach hut.
Here's Jessie in her 'Fitch Pool' at playtime...
She was originally given it as I took her sand off of her when she got the skin split.
Here's my beautiful little 'Mad Fairy' with her millet spray - it never seems to last her long...
