What a lovely little fellow Velma. So glad he is settling in and will be following his progress with interest.

It's an oxford triple connection whammy: inspector Lewis, obviously. And authors C.S. Lewis (Narnia) and Lewis Carroll (Alice) both either studied or taught there

Little Lewis has a lot to live up to then but he shows every sign of doing so!

Lewis looks wonderful. How great that he will take sunflower seds from your hand and is happy for you to hold his toothbush. Awww. Looking forward to seeing his cage.

Re: The lovely Lewis
I'm pretty smitten already. Less than a week in and he's chock full of personality.
Here's his current set up. He's finally started using his tube today. The little cardboard treehouse is a replacement for the bendy bridge I put in. The gaps were just a bit bigger than normal and I was worried about him catching his leg.

Thanks. I bought it last year when I was in Bath and never actually found the right cage set up for it for some reason. Lewis was going through the window to start with but he uses the door now
Earlier I caught him trying to climb the axel/spindle of his wheel he's just a bit too little to reach. Never mind Lewis. Better luck next time

Re: The lovely Lewis
Looks good velma, I really like that house too & he has some other really nice things in there too, lots of fun places to explore!
lol! @ the wheel, they do seem to like to try & climb any bit of the wheel they can get their little paws on

James will still use the window of his house occasionally or he'll tunnel under the sides which I find pretty odd.
Which shop did you buy it from? I don't know who I'd use it for yet but it's just too cute.

Whisper much prefers to tunnel under the sides of her house & keep the entrance well covered, Zephyr was just the same, I think if they have enough substrate to do it then it's just natural behaviour & the house becomes more of a proper burrow home if that makes sense.
I always put the house on top of a good layer of substrate rather than on the floor of the cage.
My Russians have rarely done that so I think it may be a particularly Chinesey behaviour & perhaps Lewis will be doing it soon too!
