At the moment I have a Chinese boy who is a bit prone to hiding when he's in his cage but he's perfectly happy to be held and will sit on my arm for snuggles. A couple of times he's been close to falling asleep on me.

Interesting, so male vs female doesn't guarantee behavior

They say that on a whole, girls are more lively and the boys are more laid back and whilst my James is quite a calm and chilled out lad, he doesn't like his cage much (we're working on that) so doesn't tend to venture out from his nest much. I've had four Chinese boys and they've all been individuals. Two were as lively as my girl was the other two were more lazy and preferred to sit and snuggle with you than run around.
Yes they can be more shy than other species and can take a little bit more patience and sometimes different approaches to taming but once tame they are such lovely little things.

Re: Meet Wintrow
He's such a gorgeous boy. I really hope I can get Lewis as tame as that some day. Although you he's so speedy and small right now, I'm not holding my breath But Wintrow is a smasher. And his poorly eye just makes it looks like he's winking at the ladies like the dashing chap he is

I'm sure you will get him tame! I'd been handling Wintrow at work most days since January, so I'd had a head start with getting him tame before I finally decided to bring him home.
