Re: Meet Whisper
Ohhh I am so bothered that I haven't seen this thread before! Congrats on the tiny one Cypher!
What a stunning little girl! I'm sure she is enjoying life and having fun exploring her cage!
The progress have been lovely to read about, and any picture of her tiny tale has made me go 'awwwww!' Her ears and whiskers too!
What a lucky girl she is! Looking forward to more updates!

Re: Meet Whisper
Thanks everyone, glad you're al enjoying her
Mealworms are fast becoming a favourite (no surprise there really!), she was out for a run in her wheel yesterday afternoon, she's really got the hang of it now earning herself the nickname Whiz, along with Little Wisp just because she is anyway, I was just about to offer her one when the phone rang so I went off to answer came back a few minutes later & she was still sat there patiently waiting for her treat, such a cute moment bless her
She wasn't quite so interactive this morning, by the sound of it she had very important business to attend to in her house rearranging her nest & hoard & whatever else it is they get up to indoors!
After I removed the connecting tube between the two houses yesterday she replaced it with a big fitch mountain with a tiny entrance hole I can barely see so she can now go in the right way, she obviously knows best
One more photo of Her Cuteness out for a forage

Re: Meet Whisper
We've had a little bit of a set back as I had to clean out a rather smelly house on Sunday evening which Her Cuteness wasn't too happy about, it was actually dry in there which surprised me but beginning to whiff a bit so it had to be done!
She seemed ok afterwards, running around the cage doing her usual thing & coming to me but she's been a little bit more wary since!
Yesterday morning she appeared to have abandoned her house & slept under the shelf her wheel is on which is a shame as it was lovely & cosy in her house but going by the subterranean noises this morning she's moved back in again.
She hasn't wanted to make an appearance either this morning or yesterday morning but is being very crafty sneaking out, grabbing her little piece of tofu & vanishing again without a sound, cheeky girl!
She popped out again yesterday afternoon & evening & though just a little bit more wary than she was still fine interacting with me so I don't think we've taken much of a step back, she was really enjoying her wheel yesterday evening so I didn't try to get her out, wait & see how she seems this evening now, I've made up a play pen for her so if she's feeling a little braver again tonight I'll see how she likes that….
I was feeling a little disappointed with the change in behaviour yesterday, she was so brave to begin with I have trouble remembering she hasn't even been here a week yet & is still settling in!

Re: Meet Whisper
Whisper is gorgeous - sorry to hear about the set back you had but the cleaning had to be done and I'm positive she'll come round with some mealworms and extra love
The play pen looks amazing, what a great idea.

Re: Meet Whisper
What a brilliant play pen.
She is a lucky girl. That little bridge is so cute. I have got one for my robo (when I find a robo)!

Re: Meet Whisper
I'm sure she'll settle down in no time at all, Cypher. I think she's doing brilliantly for only being home a week

Re: Meet Whisper
Velma I'm sure she will, I still can't get over how brave she was from the first day but she is still settling in & we're both getting to know one another, plenty of time for that
Pygmypuff & flowerfairy thank you, setting up play pens is always fun!
She did have a little run around in there yesterday, a little nervous to begin with which is understandable, it's quite a big open space for a little ham but she checked out lots of hideouts before going back to her cage.
She's mostly obsessed with her wheel in the evenings right now & just wants to run a marathon lol! but she does seem to have regained her confidence a bit more.

Re: Meet Whisper
The little Whiz was quite wary again yesterday, still coming to my hand but nervously flattening down & stretching out to her full length to reach a seed (I always forget just how long they are until they do that!) so I backed off a bit to give her some space just letting come to investigate me if she wanted to when she was out in the afternoon & the evening just had a little chat with her while she ran in her wheel then left her to it after that.
Definitely paid off, this morning she was right back to her original self, so keen & eager to come to me & jump in my hand, doing exactly what Zephyr used to do running to the back of the cage, upstairs into a hammock then poking her little face out "Here I am! Where's my treat!" she was even happy to be lifted right out of the cage a few times again so it looks like we're back on track now.
She really is a little joy
Here she is having a bit of a forage in her flower pot.
