James used to live in a 64L bin cage but he wasn't all that happy there. He was shy and quite nervy which is very different to how he is when he's outside his cage being handled or playing in his burrowing tank. I tried adding a level to see if that would help him but it didn't really so he's had to move into a smaller cage.

With the move he's had to lose his hammocks as they can't hang in his smaller cage

but he's still got his beloved strawberry house and his cheese box.

The bin itself was the first bin cage we made and is not quite as nicely constructed as the other ones however it'll do for now and we'll find something more permanent at some point.

He looks so tiny in that strawberry house! He is gorgeous though. Hope he has settled in ok. I loved your HOM photo - very sharp and nice composition

He lived in the cage that I've just moved him to as a 'growing up cage'. Although big is usually better and that needs to be encouraged, I guess that there are situations when it's not and sometimes we just have to listen to what they want.

After a quick look around to familiarise himself, he already seemed less nervy so I'll take that as a good sign but we'll see how he gets on over these next couple of weeks.

That's a shame, he seemed to be liking his new level too but we do have to let them guide us & as he gets so much out of cage time I don't think cage size matters so much if he's happy with something small & cosy.
