Re: The Fluffagrams Hamsters
Beautiful girl, that's a lovely photo of her, one to treasure along with all the memories.

Re: The Fluffagrams Hamsters
She stayed beautiful right until the end.
At the show that I took her to the judge commented on the fact that she was in good condition and had a nice coat so that was really nice to hear. She was just starting to get some nice rich brown patches on her coat (which is a good thing in show terms for a chinesey) when she got sick.

Re: The Fluffagrams Hamsters
I'm not surprised by that judge's comments Fluffagrams, she couldn't have been better cared for so I'm sure she was in the best condition possible.
In my mind she always was & always will be "The beautiful Lady May".

Re: The Fluffagrams Hamsters
I can't believe that it's already been a month since I had to say goodbye to my lovely girl. Not a day goes by when I don't think about her, particularly when I walk past such an empty hamster corner.
I often used to say that May thought she was the centre of the universe and I think the fact that she is missed so much proves that she might have been the centre of my universe. It's these times of loss that pet ownership is hardest and the one thing I hate about hamsters is the fact that they do have such short lives.

Re: The Fluffagrams Hamsters
Poor May and poor you she was a big personality and that leaves a big space when it's not there. Lovely picture of her though and I'm glad you have those to remember her by x

Re: The Fluffagrams Hamsters
Looking at that my heart melts, totally & utterly, bless her.
I understand just how you feel, I always miss my hams so much when they're gone but some are just so special & when they're snatched away from us much too young it does take a long time to come to terms with.
Empty ham corners are hard to live with too, I hope you find another little one to help fill the space, both in your room & in your heart.

Re: The Fluffagrams Hamsters
A gorgeous pic of May. I so understand about them being the centre of the universe, the joy they give in their short life and the empty void when they leave. That unconditional love never go away, even when they pass on.

Re: The Fluffagrams Hamsters
Yesterday was the first anniversary of Meat's passing.
Meat was one of the Founding Brothers of Metallica. Together with Stitch, they were the reason I fell in love with the Chinese Hamster, why I can't imagine having at least one in my life. In the years I kept them I learnt so much and over time I've met some lovely people through our love of hamsters. Meat himself was a resilient little guy, overcoming some of the struggles he faced and living to the grand age of three and a half before having a stroke.
I won't forget you Meat or what you taught me.
