Meet Mindy
I've already introduced her on to the other page but she's too cute to not introduce here.
This is Mindy, named after Mindy Kaling, she's roughly 2 months old and she's yet to be tamed. She likes jumping out of my hands, making me chase her around the room and waiting for me to sleep so she can be cute and play.

Re: Meet Mindy
Oh! What a pretty baby hammie! Wonderful close up photo of her. I love the little paw held up.

Re: Meet Mindy
Mindy is just so cute, but she`s a Roborovski not a Chinese! x

Re: Meet Mindy
Aw she is gorgeous, what a lovely pose!
She really does look like a little robo, it's a bit confusing as you said in the other post that she has a long tail but she doesn't look anything like a chinese!

I know! I've done so much research and she is a chinese, she even acts like a robo. Do you think perhaps she's a mix breed? Is that possible.

Hi, I thought the same but I checked with the store and they confirmed she's chinese. She has a long tail aswell. Here's a picture of her from behind so you can see the tail. It's a little blurry because she was having fun licking the oil from her wheel. Maybe you or someone can confirm for definite her breed so I know what I'm dealing with.

Re: Meet Mindy
To confirm, you have a mottled Roborovski. Mottled is the name given to the coat colour and you will notice her speed? It`s not really wise to allow robos onto a floor because they are very, very fast and can hurt themselves. I don`t know which store you bought her from, but they are misleading customers. x

Re: Meet Mindy
Here you go, just to compare both species side by side. Robo on the left, Chinese on the right. See the difference?

Re: Meet Mindy
I'll give them a call. No wonder when I get her out the other day she jumped from my hand on to the ground and had a little run around until I finally caught her! Now I need to do my research! Thankyou! I thought she looked a whole lot different to my first hamster

Re: Meet Mindy
Yeah the pet shop is just lying to you, goodness knows WHY they would want to do that, maybe they genuinely don't know the difference which is a bit worrying, but the lovely little Mindy is a perfect little robo! That's a good reference pic racinghamster, the chinese tail is very long compared to other hams.
