That's fantastic thanks. I managed to find some in one of my local pet shops so bought some and as Meat was playing in his cage when I came home, I decided to see what he would make of it.

I put some in the food bowl that came with the Mini Duna and then put it in the playpen so he had the chance to climb out if he didn't like it. At first he wasn't sure what it was but kept coming back to it and eventually decided to try and dig in it. Not quite what I was expecting but he wasn't too bad considering that this is the first time he's encountered sand.

Chinese hams can be funny with sand baths! Zephyr doesn't really use hers like my hybrids do, I tried her with quite a few different containers for the sand & she just completely ignored it until I had another go with one of my living world ceramic food bowls & she went mad in it, I thought she'd never come out lol!
As well as digging in it she kind of lies on her side & goes round & round in circles up against the side of the bowl!
They're all different though so just let him do his own thing & have some fun!

Hi, I use JR Farm Sand from Zooplus. I use to use the same sand Supreme Science one, but JR one is much cheaper and will last forever even with multiple hammies. It comes in 4 kg bag ( which is huge for sand) and I find it to be the same quality as the Supreme Science one.
The only con is the plastic bags that it comes in is of poor quality ( at least mine is ) it leaks...So I transferred some of the sand into plastic container. The rest is in the bag which is sealed with strong tape.

Well both Meat and May have had a few days to play with the sandbaths at playtime and at the moment Meat seems to have taken to it more than May has which surprised me in a way. Meat has lived for so long without having had the experience of one, I thought he'd be more nervous but so far May has only put her front paws in.
