Ideas for Activities to do with Chinese Hamsters?

Does anyone have any ideas of fun things to do with a Chinese Hamster?

I have a large bin filled with bedding that I let her run around in while I watch TV or do other things (I am constantly watching her). Also, I will let her run up and down my legs, and she seems to enjoy that.

The only problem is that I am so paranoid she is going to run so fast I won't be able to catch her and will end up losing her in my house. This normally stops me from letting her out of the cage as often as I should be.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have a wheel and tubes in the play bin? What do you have in it?

I have a wheel in her cage, and I put tubes and toys in the bin. I also sometimes hide a few treats around the cage and she enjoys digging around and looking for them.

You may find she'll enjoy using the wheel outside of the cage as well. I have a big playpen with tubes but my Syrians spend most of their time on the saucer. What about a jar on it's side with bedding in it to dig in?

Great! Thanks for the ideas. I'll try putting the wheel in the bin. Also, the jar idea is really cute. I bet she'll like that.

I hope it helps! I have a new Chinese hamster but haven't bonded with him enough to take him out yet. I filled his bin with stuff. I was going by what my Syrians like. Oh, he does like the playground puzzle! It's a pain to put together but worth it!

My chinese likes to snuggle up in my shirt. She'll crawl around in there for hours, pop out for a bit, then go back in. She also will go in her ball for a bit.
