Default Separated the Boys

I decided to separate the boys. Larry, as he is now calles wasn't coming out much, I couldn't monitor what he was eating, or his behaviour.
So I got and old aquarium down, and set it up for him.
Once Barry was mooching about, I lifted the house out with Larry in it and put him in new tank.
I sprinkled some sunflower seeds and dried mealworms on the substrate in the hope he'd come out, but he wasn't interested.
I spoke to him for a while (lol crazy hamster lady) then left him to it.

I noticed this morning he has taken the seeds and maybe some of the worms.
Hopefully he'll come round and he is just being a little timid.

Default Re: Separated the Boys

I think that was wise. They often 'sulk' a bit for about 10 days then they tend to become much more people friendly once they realise they have their own territory and can do what they like in there You have to be quite proactive with getting Chinese out as they do tend to be quite shy. We offer a tube for ours to climb in and sometimes 'insist' he gets in so we can get him out for handling.
