Default george

my new chinese hamster george who I adopted from p@h acts catatonic. he sits still or stands still in his cage for hours, it even happens out of his cage. he lived at p@h for just over 4months, it just makes me wonder what happened to him. to be fair I wouldn't like having people hit my glass tank and all that every day.

He's really healthy.

I'm hoping it'll pass over time, I've been playing with him loads, but I'm not trying to rush him.

do you have any ideas that'll help?

Hi Ness congrats on the new addition I am so pleased for you well done for adopting George. 4 months is a longtime for a hammy to be in there. Take it slowly he is nervous and probably a little scared talk to him gentle offer treats. He will come round Kumi did and look at him now hes lovely and cuddly George will get there it will just take time.

Yes they do tend to stand stock still when they think there is danger so the long spell in the shop may have affected him. Poor wee man. Maybe give him a box over one side of the cage where he can dot about without feeling watched. That may help him settle. I hope so. He is likely up a lot at night when it is dark.

yeah, he's got a box thingy alreay, he only uses it to sleep in. he doesn't get up much during the night as well, which is strange as all the other hamsters are (I don't sleep at night really ). it's just a bit worrying. I'll let everyone know how he improves, I'm sure it won't take too long. thanks for the support and stuff.

I've just never had a hamster like this before, its strange I know humanes like it but not pets.
