A couple of new additions!

[Vectis Hamstery]

A couple of little ones have smuggled their way into the Vectis household recently!

This is my little Valtine keeper, now named Gavroche (a name from Les Mis like his parents)


I made the trip over to a big rodent show in Holland at the start of April and on the whole only came back with what I had planned! The next few months will be exciting here

Bonchurch, BEW female

Whitecliff, BEW male

Alum Bay, dom spot male (from BEW lines)

Spring Vale, dom spot female (from BEW lines)

Copperhead, normal male (so named as we travelled back on a minibus full of snakes!)

I've never been 100% sold on BEW chineseys, but those two are so beautiful.. I am turned!
Copperhead also has the cutest little baby face!

Beautiful new additions Vectis and I love wee mousie! Bonchurch & Whitecliff remind me of tail-less mice! But then chinese hamsters always did remind me more of mice than hamsters! Best of luck with them.

Aaww, they are all little beauties, especially Whitecliff and Copperhead.

I was under the impression that harvest mice are endangered in the UK/Europe, so it was illegal to keep them unless you took part in the breeding programme? Though I have seen them advertised by exotics breeders, so it can't be. Did you have to get a license to import him from Holland?

I don't think it can be illegal to keep them as there seem to be plenty for sale on Preloved.

I've never been entirely convinced about Chineses, I don't really like their tails but those are rather adorable

I think its illegal to disturb harvest mice in the wild But theres no problem keeping captive bred ones x
