Re: A couple of new additions!
Awww, they are all beautiful Rachel
Congratulations on your new additions
p_anda - I keep a number of Harvest Mice, there is no license required to keep them and it is perfectly legal. There are a number of breeders and places which breed Harvest Mice to release in to the wild, but these only breed from suitable mice which have not had much human contact, as obviously the mice need to be still afraid of humans to be able to live in the wild successfully.
Pet Harvest Mice and tame Harvest Mice are not suitable for breeding to release due to the above, but they do make lovely pets

Re: A couple of new additions!
Perhaps you were thinking of Hazel Mice(dormice), p-anda? You do need a licence to keep these, even just to pet sit them. Harvest mice, as Tammy says, need no licence. In fact, my little Robin was intended as food rather than a pet, but he's taming up nicely. Since he thinks food mainly is found served in a little dish, I doubt he'd last long in the wild!
Thanks for the lovely comments, everyone.

Yeah I have seen them for sale, I just find it weird that they are a native endangered animal yet you can keep them as pets? Or were they 'domesticated' before they became endangered? Though I guess being domesticated could potentially save the species, if the breeding is done right.

I wasn't, I genuinely wasn't sure about the status of harvest mice as pets. Just as well you got him, it would've been a shame if he was turned into feed.
