Chinese Eyesight
How good is a Chineses eyesight? Better than a Syrians? I get the impression Shilohs is WAY better than Cookies so I'm intrigued to know. I know Chinese have height perception so I've always assumed they could see better than a Syrian.

Re: Chinese Eyesight
From what I`ve been able to observe and compare between my syrian and my chinese, I would say the chinese has much better sight, yes. I don`t know about the actual veterinary interpretation of how they see or focus as individual species, but the chinese do seem more aware of what`s going on around them and don`t flip out if you move close by. My syrian takes fright if I don`t move slowly around him, while my chinese just darts around normally and anticipates my every move.
They do have gorgeous gemstone eyes though! Like small cabochons of ebony.

Re: Chinese Eyesight
I would agree, Ive found Bacardi has much better awareness of his surroundings, as well as a good height perception.
As far as I know, Mice have better sight and height perception than hamsters. So with chinese being mouse-like hamsters that could be why

Re: Chinese Eyesight
Definitely does sound likes it better. I've just thought of something else which backs it up. With Cookie she'll sniff around the cage a lot more before she strolls around, Shy will just zoom around like she knows where she's going.
Not the best comparison as I think Cookie has some eyesight problems, but you get what I mean .
