Re: Went to P@H today...
I feel terrible atm. I'm having to scruff him twice a day to clean the stump with diluted hibiscrub but this can't be good for him, he always seems so scared.
Can't wait for the stump to heal properly so I can tame him, I hate having to do it but it's for his health. -.-

Aww you've gotta stay strong. He'll forgive you, that's the thing about Chinese hammies. They're much more forgiving than other hams.

Re: Went to P@H today...
Bless him. I hope he's feeling better soon and gets cuddles instead of medicine. I had to scruff one of my boys for meds 1-2 times a day for nearly 3 months. Although he hated coming out then, he soon learned to love handing again after the medication stopped and I'm sure your little guy will too.

Re: Went to P@H today...
It's hard but I will stay strong. It's the way he kicks up such a fuss, squeaking etc. I don't want to hurt him, it's a shame he doesn't realise I'm only helping. The wound looks alot better now compared to Friday though.
I've decided to give up the taming as I'm just confusing him, I'll wait until he's off the meds.

Re: Went to P@H today...
Aww don't worry, even though he doesn't understand now he will benefit from it all in the end
On a side note, I had a rare visit to P@H today and I was shocked by the size of the chinese! They were half the size of Bacardi easily
There was a little one in the adoption too... But I dragged myself away!

Re: Went to P@H today...
I saw a picture of Bacardi in your hand, Mel and he looks massive. I think Bailey is half his size too.

Re: Went to P@H today...
Well he does score well for his size at shows, 9/10 last time
I'm hoping he won't get any bigger now though, or I'll have to cut down on the nice food!

I'm super late in response, but congrats on your ''new'' member! You're lucky, and he's very cute! Hope his stump heals well for you!

No worries, thank you! It's healing very well. Still working on his taming though.
