REVIEW OF FERPLAST CRICETI 15 CAGE

This cage is HUGE! It is also very sturdy and well-made. Ideally you need 2 people to put it together. It is really wonderful. It has a very deep base so you can really pile up the shavings if your critter likes to burrow. Because the cage ceiling is so far from the floor, I would definitely recommend putting extra shavings in the bottom to cushion any falls. My Syrian hamster likes to climb the bars and she makes it all the way up to the top, and sometimes falls the entire way down (ouch)-- no injuries because we have lots of shavings in the bottom tray. This cage is really spacious. We have a Wodent Wheel, 2 climbing toys, a plastic house, food dish and a swing ladder attached to the top and the cage still has lots of open space left. The platform is completely adjustable and it is very easy to take off and move wherever you want it. It attaches with plastic screws so the platform itself is quite sturdy as well. The lid fits snugly and is easy to open and close. The tube access points come with plastic domes to seal them off if you are not actually using tubes. These are secure enough for my hamster not to escape, but if you have a real escape artist you may want to reinforce them on the outside. They can be pushed out with firm pressure from a human hand. Putting extra Ferplast tubes on the cage is easy and lots of fun. We have connected the Ferplast Lab pod and even another Ferplast cage so our hamster can go from one cage to another and have tons of space. The 'loo roll test' is good for seeing if your Syrian is small enough for these tubes. If they can fit easily through a cardboard loo (toilet paper) roll, then they will fit through these tubes. WELL WORTH THE MONEY to have extra space for your hamster and so many options for adding on. Great cage!

Just ordered one of these cages today from ECF. I wanted one with a grey base but they rang me back and told me they only had green ones, which after seeing on here I quite like

No the bar spacing is a bit too wide I think Bex - you could mesh the whole thing but that would take alot of work and time!

Bums. Although the mouse I had in mind is almost 2 so he's fully grown and his cage bars are 10mm exactly. I also was going to try and bond him with 2 other boys who are in a Rody, but they were in a Rotastak for a few days while I sorted out a new cage and the bar spacing I think on a rotastak is 14 mm. I'd really rather go for this cage than the Kios

the rotastak i had was 8mm suitable for my roborovski.
If they are large breeder fancy mice you might just get away with it. Plus being males they are larger.

I know the savic cambridge can keep large male mice and thats 10mm

Thanks for the info.
I used the round part in the picture Rotastak|Add Ons|for Your Hamster|Gerbil|Mouse|www.Harry-Hamster.co.uk|Information about: Rotastak Original Cages and I measured it - it was definately 10mm+

Yeah if they are fully grown they might be ok, and as FM says if they are fancy mice so naturally bigger you will propb get away with it!
