Bin cages.
My hamster Nightlock lives in two bins that are joined together with habitrail ovo tubes. I recommend bin cages they are awesome there super cheap and if the walls are high enough it doesn't even need a lid. My two bins measure 616sq inches all together. the cons are that if you have short arms like me you might find it hard to pick your hamster up out of the cage. If in the sunlight it can get very hot inside. That's all really in my opinion bin cages are great. Hope this helped

Re: Bin cages.
Just a question, how did you secure the tubes between the two bins? I tried, but it's hard to keep them stable.

Re: Bin cages.
Does your hamster do fine with them joined that way? I don't have the room to join them like that, would it be possible to stack my current one over another and join them with a tube?

Re: Bin cages.
Bins are great cages I hope you don't mind me saying, but one larger bin is better than two smaller ones joined together. Generally people mean a continuous floor area of about 450 square inches or about 70cm by 45cm, although it's fine to have an add-on bin as well if one of the bins meets a good minimum size. Does he seem happy with the set up though?
Am guessing you're in the US. This is a good sized cheap bin
Access Denied
It's a bit on the low side for a Syrian but gives good floor area so they can have wheel, house, toys, sand bath etc all in one area, and maybe one of the add-on bins could have deeper substrate and be a digging box

i have them propped up with bendy bridges and there's a little duct tape to secure it don't worry it's well out of his reach. I hope to upgrade it soon though

Re: Bin cages.
Aisling me too, I need to do it soon because Zero has started bar chewing. Does stacking work as well as side by side? Like I said I don't really have the room. I could make the room if I had to, but I'm planning on getting a huge big and putting it on the bottom then put my usual bin on top.
