It would obviously be bulky & long but it would be a lot lighter.xxx

You are welcome. I really do like tanks and my all time favourites were my exo terra glass open fronted tanks, I had some nice setups with those, but they were too heavy to move. Ive had perfectos but though I liked the lid and glass tank I hated the shelves being in the way when trying to clean, ive also had rody rabbit, mary, the small rody?, the two teir coloured cage, etc etc I cant remember all the names now.

Re: Ferplast Duna Multy
I have had a Perfecto two shelf's you are right it was a total nightmare to clean out in the end I had to balance it on it's front edge to get the substrate from the back under the shelf out.
This one I have now has no shelf's so is easy to look after once in place it's just getting it there & out the way when it's not needed.
I will have to get used to the coloured plastic at the bottom.
I remember your exo vivs they did look lovely but totally understand what you mean. I do like the look of the Mary but I know my luck I would have a ninja dwarf ham who bar chewed & climbed oh the roof & drop off

Re: Ferplast Duna Multy
Yes they all had their pros and cons, I think we decided we need a bit from every cage to make one that works for everything.

Re: Ferplast Duna Multy
That''s a good plan.
I keep emailing Ferplast every now & then asking if they have any plans to bring back the clear base & put in on the duna multy/fun large
Last time the answer was no have sent them another one last week. No harm in trying

Re: Ferplast Duna Multy
Good luck, the last time I emailed Hagen to suggest bigger tank style cages ie like zoozone but with smaller bar gaps for hamsters they said hamsters didn't need big cages. I haven't been back to their site for a while so have no idea what they have.

Re: Ferplast Duna Multy
Great images sully and explanations of the Multi. Would you have any old images if your exo terra set up`s by chance? Just curious really. I know these are heavy due to being glass and the only reason I would have one is if I managed to find a wee Harvest mouse! I`m not sure I would use one for a hamster, although they do come in various shapes and sizes....
The main reason I`m put off by the multi-storey shelving is the fear of falls and tumbles. Probably why I prefer more floor space than height for hamsters. I`d love to find a cheap Zoozone 2 locally but have had no luck so far. x
