Default Savic Peggy Metro Deluxe

I bought this cage yesterday afte looking at the Cambridge and the Maxi Mouse models for my two Campbells

I liked this cage becasue it has good floor space, the uppper level is roomy and the tubes fit in place really well. It was easy to put together and the cage comes with all the tubing, a water bottle, a wheel and a house. I've put a smaller wheel in for now and have put the wheel that came with the cage in the WW's cage.

On the down side I wasn't impressed with the water bottle as it seems to constantly drip, and isn't 'on demand' so to speak, so I've replaced that with a regular bottle

The Savic's aren't cheap, (this one was 39.99) but they seem to be popular models and well built,it's also easy to get parts for it.

I was looking at these and thought it looked like a good cage, interested to see your review. Just wondered how are the bars spaced for dwarfs, I see you have dwarfs in yours so guessing they are fine!

However, I have 2 baby Campbells in there and they seem fine. I really would like to get another one for my WW's , I think it's a really good cage

Yeah I guessed that I was concerned about dwarf hamsters escaping but seeing as your babies are doing ok, it seems like a great cage and I will certainly consider getting one

Great review! The cage looks very nice too, but probably a bit on the small side for Syrians, and I think some of the larger ones would struggle to fit through those tubes. Can your Dwarfs manage to climb up those steep tube OK?

They seem to have no problems at all climbing up the tubes !! I don't think it would be too small for a Syrian either to be honest. Will try to take some pictures later

I've looked at this cage before and it's nice for a WW or Campbells but on it's own I don't think it would be big enough for a Syrian as it's not really long enough for them to stretch their legs properly. However, these cages with tubes are great to add on to tanks or other cages as I have done with various cages and small animals.

I like it, but i try to avoid cages with tubes going horizontal. My hamsters would always nest in the tubes which was very annoying because it made a lot of mess. i just bought a savic cambridge and got a fabric tunnel and put it in. Its just a little substitute for not having tubes. Do your hamsters nest in those tubes?
