Review - Skyline Sky Rat 100 hamster cage

Plastic quality: Good. Skyline manufactur many of the cages such as the alexander etc
Bar spacing: Less than 1cm, nice anthracite coloured bars <3

Pros:
Size
Bar spacing suitable for all species of hamster
Deep enough base for plenty of substrate
Neutral colour
Large openings to top and bottom levels
Good 'investment' cage as suitable for all and can be made into a good sized rat cage by taking out the middle base and attaching all the bars together, then putting base in again once rats are elderly.

Cons:
If being split into two cages a mesh layer may be required to stop bottom hamster chewing into top hamsters cage
Large hole in middle base that needs covering to make it into 2 cages (a big shelf comes with the cage, velcro over the hole and its sorted)

Split into 2, mesh layer between levels, as seen at the level of all the blue cable ties. this makes the top cage 45cm tall and the bottom only 40cm but it allows for toys to be hung and also prevents hamsters chewing into each others cages. The cage base on top is a hamster heaven.


Overally I am very pleased and everyone who has been to mine really likes it <3 and I love it and I have a feeling ill get another one. It is a lovely sturdy cage and mine will shortly have a zz2 on top of it.

How did you use the velcro to cover the hole in the middle of top floor?

The shelf that came with the cage is velcro'd to.the cage covering the hole
