Lightbulb ferplast laura

Hi alll,
I believe I've seen a review about this cage from around feb time. It said that the laura ferplast was advertised for dwarfs. However I bought one of these from pets@home and it is advertised as a syrian hamster home. After reading some things on the thread mentioned before, loads of you said it was too small for a syrian? Herbie seems very happy in his laura cage but I wondered What are your thoughts on this? I've added the link to show you what cage I am on about. Laura Syrian Hamster Cage by Ferplast | Pets at Home

Thankss

It is too small for a Syrian unfortunately. The dimensions of the cages are far below the recommended size for Syrians and I highly doubt a suitable sized wheel for a Syrian would fit. I'm not being horrible or trying to have a go, I've learnt so much from being on this forum.
Sadly most cages advertised for Syrians are in fact way too small for them.

My views - its too small for a dwarf, forget a syrian. He may seem happy, but can you fit an 8" wheel in there? How much space is left when you do?

And how long has he been in there? It may be that he's a nice quiet well behaved hamster who's just accepting his lot in life rather than bothering to complain. My two syrians would go ballistic if I put them in lauras, and our dwarf hams would all become noticably subdued too I'm afraid.

It depends on your budget, space and preferred style. If all are flexible I would go with an Alexander.

I have had him for 2weeks kyrill. He is very quiet as it goes but that could have something to do with him bein in this small space. There would not be much room left after the wheel. Thanks for your advice, I really have been ripped off by pets@home! I even spoke to a sales rep there.

Stuff like the hamster heaven and the alexander cage are great. The Alexander is currently £69.90 on Zooplus and I think it might be cheaper somewhere else.
There's also the Barney Cage and some others.
Alternatively, there is the Savixc Rody Rabbit and the ZooZone 2 but you would need to mesh the lid.
Another option is a bin cage. CHeap to make and just as good

Yeah I was in my local one the other day and I am NOT impressed with their new "Syrian" cage that's for sale. It's nowhere near big enough

I'm the same as Lougarry, if those things aren't an issue then Alexanders are awesome

Or a much cheaper cage that I am really impressed with is the Alaska. Both are for sale on zooplus, the Alaska is smaller but still big enough and its cheaper than most other hamster cages. Ours hasn't been tested yet, but we constructed it and it seems really sturdy to us.

Oh and don't get me started on P@H lol. I've been refusing to set foot in our local branch since January.
