Default Savic Ruffy 2

Dimensions: 80cm x 50cm x 38cm

This is not my photo, but it shows what the cage looks like:

This is a fantastic cage. When Willow moved up back home with me, we got it second hand from a friend who had used it to house a rat in, but it had since housed a much loved hamster called Angel. Now it houses Willow. It was passed onto me by friends for free - generous people are fantastic

It has a lovely, deep base for lots of layering, and is big enough for a 12" wheel, but not so high that there is any great risk from bar climbing. There is plenty of floor space for toys as well, as well as bar space for hanging toys. It is high enough that the hanging toys hang well, but that they are not so high the hamster cannot reach to play with them. It's also very easy to reach in to take a nervous-ish hamster out.

My only concerns with it, so far unfounded, are that the base is held in place only by two side-clips, as can be seen from the picture, and the top is held in place with a clip too. However, I think these are paranoid concerns rather than real dangers. I have a couple of Harry Potter books which sit across each side of the door on top, just for extra security. Also, this would be a cage solely for Syrians - bar space is far too big for any kind of dwarf.

All in all, there is nothing more I wish to add about the cage. Simple, effective, aesthetically pleasing and very comfortable for a hamster!

I think it's about that...and if it can be used for hybrids then that's another bonus! I will try and remember to measure when next I go up.

I agree it's a great cage, I love it so much I have three of them. The two Ruffys with my twins mini1 and mini2 rest nicely on my Igor102. Badger is next to them in his Ruffy resting on a big empty box. I'll try find some photos of them all together in my hamster and bird room.

I can't find my tape measure so can't measure the bars though.

Haha thanks Bekki. That's why the tea-towel is on top of my clock, because he chews the corner if it's uncovered.
